Medical Records Clerk
We are a large multi-specialty ophthalmology practice dedicated to serving the vision needs of our patients. The medical records department fulfills a vital role in organizing, storing, and routing patients’ demographic and health information as well as other important business records. Physical requirements include the ability to sit at a desk or workspace for up to eight hours per day and be able to lift no more than 10 pounds from a standing position.

- Explain HIPAA regulations and guidelines to patients
Technical Skills
- Understand and comply with HIPAA regulations and office privacy policies
- Assemble patient charts correctly and speedily
- Accurate data entry
- Accurately scan medical charts and related documents into patient chart and tabs
- Understand copier and scan equipment maintenance protocols
- Schedule appointments to prep an add-on patient’s chart
- Read and understand clinical notes
- Scans accounting and other business documents into correct files and tabs
- Uses time effectively
